This woman paused on a street in Arles, France, to allow the Google Maps Street View car to drive past.

When I saw her, she put me in mind of van Gogh's painting of Madame Ginoux, "LArlesienne With Books", my favorite van Gogh painting.

The contrast of the black against the colorful wall was all it took to make her my subject.
